I've Not Made Any Speculations But...

Right... So I've seen the latest trailers for S4 of BSG including the latest Laura Roslin one and I don't know what to think. RDM really does like frakking with our minds, doesn't he? I've not made any speculations or predicted what might happen.

I'm just afraid of Laura Roslin's character being destroyed. Having watched La Femme Nikita, the writers destroyed Madeline's character in Season 4 with their writing and the way the plot moved. It was almost too painful to watch. I do not want that to happen to BSG. I know they're going all out to create a mind-blowing final season for the show but I don't want it to happen at the risk of them screwing up Laura Roslin and who she is as a person. There's no spoilers under the cut below if you've seen the video.

The trailers really make me have this uncomfortable feeling in my stomach and I do hope to dear Gods, that it's all just mind-frakking they're doing to keep us hanging. Diplomat or dictator? Laura Roslin as a dictator is possible, she has the ruthlessness and strength needed for that role. But does she want dictatorship? She'll do whatever it takes to get the Fleet to earth - to safety. But given a choice, will she actually make all the controversial decisions that she has made in the past?
To have her portrayed as power hungry isn't my thing. I mean, yeah, badass!Laura is awesome and hot. But RDM better not screw up her character royally. It he does, although I think I trust that he won't, S4 never happened. I'll just live in my own world of fics. If she's the Final Cylon, I can live with that. If she dies - SHE CAN'T DIE!!! I DON'T WANT HER TO DIE!!! - I can live with that because fanfiction exists for a reason.

But please, please, please, don't destroy her character and the essence of who she is. That cannot happen.

What to you guys think? Any thoughts?

P.S. - I'm not going to mention A/R because this would turn into a long essay or something and I have homework. I just wanted to put down what I'm thinking at the moment.
