My friend in the US, she just moved there a few days ago, was telling me that some kid said; "Ching chang chong!" to her.

Friend: Ching chang chong!
Me: Heyy, there! Haven't spoken to you in ages! How are you? And what on earth is "ching chang chong"?
Friend: Some random kid came up to me, said it and ran away laughing.

Ching Chang Cong is a different name for Rock Paper Scissors. I think it's pretty common in Germany (the name), but I didn't know it was in America.

O.o Really, that confuses me even more. Why on earth would people randomly tell her a band name?

Band? It's a game. :p You know, scissor beats paper, paper beats rock ... ect. Just google it. ... and why? Kids are silly. They probably saw your friend, somebody who is evidently from an Asian country and thought it would be funny to shout something at them that sounds "Asian"? Dunno.

oooo i see. -.- sorry, brain spaced out, lol.

Eh, so it's a racist thing. How inconsiderate and completely ignorant; considering that there are many 'types' of Asians. == 'ching chang chong' doesn't even exist as a phrase.

Well, when used in context of the game I don't think it's meant to be racist, it just follows the pattern of the other names, like Schnick Schnack Schnuck, Klick Klack Kluck ect.

However I think it's sad that children today only know stereotypes. ... but there is still hope!

I don't think the game is racist in anyway. What's racist is the fact that a random kid came up and said it to my friend for no reason; and then only recently, another person said it to her; not a kid this time.
