I opened a new savings account recently, in order to move some money out of a 0.1% thing into something that means my money depreciates slightly less.
When I've done this before, I've typically received a bunch of paperwork in the post. Amongst that is usually a piece of paper which says:
Dear very lovely Debbie McGee,
You've just opened a new account with us. To log into your Internet Savings PortalTM, use the following details.
Username: debbie.mcgee1958
Password: 50m3lud1c|^ou5jum813of!3t7er5
You'll be able to set your own password the first time you log in!
Sincerely,
Bastards PLC
But not this time! This time, I get to choose my own password right away. On paper. Which I have to fill in and post back to them.
It's so retro. Like, oh-emm-gee, 1990s retro.
