Panic Room

I was in a pub on Saturday and it had a dumb waiter. I mentioned that every home should have one, because then when children misbehave you can push them in and keep them somewhere around the ceiling. My drinking and dining companion decided that he'd love to have one so he could use it as a panic room.

This led to us re-casting Panic Room, which originally starred Jodie Foster. In my companion's version, Judy Dench hides in the dumb waiter and has to pull on the chain for all she's worth to avoid being captured by the bad guys. In my version, June Whitfield and Helen Mirren play a mother-and-daughter combo. In the sober light of day, I'm not sure how they'd both fit. Perhaps they'd have to remove their shoes or something.

Drinking is bad for you, mmmkay?
