We've all come across fmylife.com, yes? My favourite entry recently: Today, I woke up crying in the middle of a nightmare in which my boyfriend of 8 months shot me through the heart whilst laughing as I screamed 'I Love You'. After I told him about this, he took me into his arms as I cried, stroked my back and said, 'What kind of gun was it?' FML

I was up in Birmingham over the weekend, visiting my parents for Mother's Day. My brother's friends had been down with a 48 hour virus earlier in the week, and now he had it - cold and clammy, sweating absolute buckets, and retching, although he hadn't eaten/drank much, mostly just water.
I left Birmingham at a bit after 6, and he was starting to ache quite a lot. I got home at about half eight which, with a stop for petrol and some serious traffic on the M1, wasn't too bad really. Checking email and stuff, I get a phone call. It's my mum. "Just to let you know, your little brother's gone to A&E and has been admitted into hospital with a suspected kidney stone(s). They're doing scans and tests and things." Oops.
My computer has become very unstable in the last couple of weeks. I need to do some scans (memory and hard disk) - it could involve the memory, or it could involve the swap. I think I recently reconfigured where Windows was using for swap files which might - I guess - have hit somewhere bad on a disk, which is annoying. In any event, I'd been looking at upgrading for the last couple of months because my computer was really starting to chug reallys lowly. Over the weekend, I made up my mind and have finally bought something - although it might take a week or so to arrive. I have a working laptop to stay online at home, but in the unlikely event that anyone wants to get hold of me, email/phone/SMS is likely to work better than other options for the next couple of weeks.
