Well, I've gone and watched HBP again. This time I took my mother, who is far more literate than my less-than-appreciative sister, and I found that sometimes when you watch/look at something more than once, you get a different view. Unfortunately, my mother didn't much appreciate the movie- too dark for her tastes. This of course, effected my own watching habits, as I was drawn to this darkness once she mentioned it. I laughed less than I did when I saw it the first time, and enjoyed the acting less as well. Suddenly the acting seemed robotic, from everyone, (except the lovely Emma Watson, she's so wonderful!) and the plot was a bit too forced, stretching to reach it's end-point.
*sigh* I'm going to have to see it again by myself. I'm always so heavily influenced by the others around me. Not to mention the group of teenage girls behind me who would not shut up! There was not a whole minute that went by that was uninterrupted by their incessant tittering and chattering. I lost count of the dirty shut-up-before-I-come-back-there-and-beat-you-senseless looks I sent them, and even when I broke down and hissed at them to kindly shut your blathering mouths , they continued. GRR. Sometimes I hate the theatre.
BUT, there is good news! Tomorrow I go out to another wonderful hot afternoon with a friend, and I'm actually introducing a new hiking/swimming area to her. Hurray for new places!
