First Mothers' Day, Peanut Butter Sandwiches

My sister and I nursed our babes together on Mothers' Day:

The first six weeks officially pass tonight at 8:08 p.m.! My average day has been spent like this up until now:

+ Wake up to smiling baby around dawn. We've managed to stretch that to 8 a.m.
+ Nurse baby, change diaper, coax into sleeping a few more hours.
+ Get out of bed around 10 or 11, put baby in swing in bathroom, shower.
+ Find something to eat in this mostly foodless house. Thank god for spelt bread and peanut butter.
+ Nurse, change diaper.
+ Change diaper again.
+ Watch Monk or Gilmore Girls or blog while baby sleeps. Feel a little bit pathetic and/or stir crazy.
+ Try to take a little walk, but probably don't make it very far.
+ Nurse, change diaper, nurse.
+ Ask mythalethe to pick X up at store for dinner.
+ Remember I haven't eaten. Eat bread and peanut butter.
+ Nurse.
+ Stare at mess in house. Feel overwhelmed. Look at baby. Feel giddy, joyous, silly, scared, amazed, in love, lazy.
+ Begin baby fussiness. Bounce baby. Nurse baby. Bounce baby. Rock baby. Nurse baby. Give baby to mythalethe. Change diaper. Bounce. Nurse. Change. Rock. Nurse. Bounce. Just about lose it. Rock. Baby falls asleep.
+ Watch movie. Shirk household activities. Think about mess of things accumulating. Ignore. Think of baby. Smile.
+ Hit bed around 1 a.m. Nurse baby. Sleep.

As of tomorrow, it will be much of the same, but a daily walk at least to the store, and a daily meal plan. Also, vow to not feel lousy because the house is a mess or because I haven't returned phone calls and emails.
