Juice Death... yeah, I tried it...
So, gloomchen has gone on many times about this juice death fast thing that she does and Mike and I finally got around to trying it. Two days, nothing but juice, 1600 calories. Ummmm... can I say ow? Good news is on Saturday morning I weighed myself and I was 187.5 and as of this morning, I was 180. So, it definitely works, but boy the cranky is just out of control. I also had to make sure to take 2 excedrin migraine each day since I wasn't having any caffeine and that brings on the headache from hell. Although it worked well, I felt a little too weak for comfort. I think the next time we do it, it'll probably be a cleanse instead with the whole lemonade, maple syrup, cayenne pepper thing. We've done that one before and it was the right amount of nutrients that we were able to keep it up for about 4 days instead of just 2.
On other fronts, Mike was laid off in a mass company lay off 2 weeks ago. Personally, I think it's a good thing. He's got the sweet severence since he was there for so long and can get unemployment plus his insurance is paid for until February. This way he can start looking into other types of work since he hasn't been happy working support for quite some time.
This weekend, we went out and got a new dishwasher because the old one bit the dust in a big, noisy, parts-no-movey kind of way. He'll be putting that in today and then working on the stupid hearth pad so we can get some wood heat in the house for this winter as it's starting to get pretty chilly out. We also picked up some paint and a bunch of brackets to hang a whole load of shelves to try and get our lives organized. I think that's the biggest irritant in this house. There are plenty of big rooms and no storage at all. Ehren's old room is being made into a storage room again and we'll shut it up for the winter as well so we don't need to heat it and can get some of the clutter out of the downstairs.
Lots of projects in the works inside and Thanksgiving at Dave's house again this year. Things are looking pretty good.
