Oh yeah...I hads me some coffeh!
And I've been drinking it like mad ever since I got home.
This past Saturday, we had a show to do at 10:30am (ouch) but it was over by 11am and we were able to go and hit the Saturday market. We brought Dorrie along with us and we sat and drummed in the drum circle for awhile. Afterwords, it was nap time!!! Dorrie's never been there before and she realized these were seriously her people and it was a glorious day for all.
Saturday night/Sunday the decision was made that Ehren will be going back to his father's. After a year of counselors, stability, medication, love, discipline and a sense of family, my son has determined he no longer wants to live with me. Fine, he's leaving on a flight out of Portland at 1:30pm to start his old life all over again. I will not be bailing him out again, he's made his bed.
After we drop him at the airport, Mike and I are going to stay in Portland overnight and just be us without kids or stress or anything. Katie is here and can take care of the house and the dogs and I'm just a phone call away if necessary. It'll be nice to go on this little mini-vacation. First one we've ever had. Going to visit family doesn't count. I'm excited to get to spend some fun alone time with him in some place new. I think I'm going to see what is going on up there over the next few days and make some plans and some hotel reservations. I think it's just the thing we need to blow off the final moments of the last stressful and emotionally torturous year.
Technically, I should have been in bed 2 hours ago. I'm just waiting for Mike to finish showering and then we're going to hit the hay and hopefully sleep.
