I know I haven't posted in this have of forever but there's been so much going on in the background that I really only have time to read stuff most days and not write stuff.
Tonight however is different. Tonight I have a few things that I want to write about.
Feb. 1st was Mike's birthday and I wanted to make it something cool. So I hunted everywhere for the best sushi in Eugene and found Misako. Unfortunately for us our tastes in sushi are a little more polished that what they served so it was kind of meh. We went and got coffee then headed over to the Bijou to see "Poultrygueist: Night of the Chicken Dead" it was a hysterical Troma musical. Later that night Mike got sick, like really sick...oh crap that food poisoning sick. So Happy Birthday! You get to puke for 3 days straight!
After that and before right now, I had been interviewing for a management position (this would be position 6 for those keeping track at home). Position 5 I got the job but HR said no because Mike worked in that department and we are "domestic partners" so we can't report to the same manager...piffle I say! Anyway, I had also gone through 2 interviews for position 6 only to be told 1-2 weeks later that I wasn't qualified enough for it. Last week they contact me back and I'm back in the running but this time it's different. First, I was sent out a book on management to read and have an interview on that, which went perfectly. Monday the director is flying up from Florida to interview me. So I'm thinking that unless I do something like take a dump in her wheaties, I've got the job.
Wednesday morning, the toilet decided it didn't want to fill with water to be able to flush it. We had to turn off the water, giggle the little pump thingy inside then turn the water back on and the tank would then fill. Annoying! So we had all the replacement parts and Mike and I got at it that night. I can say this...the flush is more powerful, nothing leaks, I can take a shower and the temperature stays constant and it's pretty quiet. One other thing I can say about it is that we had to have done something wrong. Water doesn't swirl around the bowl now. It just sucks down from the center and fills from the center and I have no idea how to fix that. I tried loosening up some of the nuts in the back so the tank wouldn't squish the sponge thingy and a little amount of water seeped out the upper edge of the bowl, but then water leaked all over the floor. So we're stuck. Any ideas?
Last night I went to take a shower and pull the removable shower head down and broke the holder. The kitchen faucet has decided spraying water sideways is far more entertaining. So time to hit Jerrys and get the plumbing stuff and get this fixed up and done.
Tonight however was the most awesomest night ever! Mike and I went to see Madame Butterfly at the Hult Center. I was in a nice skirt and dress and he was in his black on black pin striped suit, black dress shirt and tie...one word....RAWRFUCKINGRAWR!!! He is amazingly HOT in a suit. Anyway....it was wonderful, beautiful, magical. I cried frequently and well not only for the amazingly sad portions but because of the woman's voice it was just so powerful and pure. Singular notes gave my entire body the chills and cry.
Tomorrow is off to get plumbing supplies and gel nails for my interview on Tuesday... the 4th interview for the same position. I think I ran out of witty 2 interviews ago.
Night!
