012 - [Video] Accidental

[After an entire day of trying to sew in water, Juliet has given up and "borrowed" one of Spike's t-shirts, which she has tied off at her midriff, in order to keep her upper torso covered while she's stuck for a week. And by 'stuck', she has a long finned tail (mostly pink scales, with a few blue ones here and there) instead of legs, and is *still ( Read more... )

[Juliet may be having trouble adapting to mermaid-hood, but for Michiru it's been almost as easy as breathing. She smiles. It's a small, amused smile, but there is softness there.]

You do not know how to swim?

[Someone new. Lovely. She wonders if the hair color is a result of her change into a mermaid, or if it is that way normally.]

I do not, Lady. Verona is surrounded by land, and so there was never a need to learn. Lord Saxon suggested I do so when the rains came, but I have not yet had the opportunity. Would that I had been more diligent about taking his advice.

I can see how it would not be a skill you thought you needed until now. If you wished, I could teach you.

Given that I have fallen in the river whilst doing the wash, I should have paid it more mind. Any help you could give would be welcome, Lady.

[That draws a small laugh from her]

Well, I believe these devices can show where one is? If you let me know your name and location, I would be happy to be right over

[She reaches for the device, straining to even brush her fingers against it. It's just a little out of reach.]

I fear that may take time, Lady. I cannot reach the button to press it.

[She shakes her head, hair floating past her in ways she hadn't expected. She'll have to find something with which to pull it back.]

I am Juliet Montague, Lady. I would curtsy, but my physical being prevents me from doing so.

I wonder if this is how those who were not human felt when they were made to be human during the last event. So completely lost in a new shape.

[Another laugh]

Where are you in relation to things? Do you know where the Temple of Heaven is in relation perhaps?

I would not know. Usagi-chan has mentioned that event, but I can not speak for others.

Trust me though, once you get the hang of it, swimming will be quite easy.

[She shakes her head, causing her hair to swish about again.]

I have been to the temple but once, for Usagi's birthday. I do not remember the way from here. You are a friend to her, Lady?

I pray that you are correct. Right now, it is harder than when I first learned to embroider.

[A shrug]

I fear I can't help you then. But if we run across each other, I would be happy to help you.

I understand. I thank you for your kindness, then, and if we happen across each other, I shall be glad of your assistance.

By what name are you called, Lady?

I hope for your success in learning to swim then.

I am Kaiou Michiru, Montague-san

Thank you, Lady Michiru.

[She smiles.]

And please, call me Juliet. If I have understood the phrasing correctly from conversations with others, 'Montague-san' would better refer to my husband's mother than to myself.

You flatter me. [And yet, she doesn't correct the title]

Juliet-san then.
