They would not have given it, Majesty, even though we have done a noble thing, and we are in love. Our two families were feuding. By marrying, with the consent of our Church, we will stop the feud. It cannot continue if the houses are joined.

I can only hope, Majesty. God has blessed the union, at least, so I do not fear in that respect.

[In her general experience, she is. Families may grumble, but they generally accept a marriage in time. It's why headstrong youths such as Romeo and Juliet find their way to these secret marriages: their family will find themselves forced to accept it, eventually.

Katherine cannot quite condone this, of course; but in this particular case, it seems to have been done with noble motives.]
