[Juliet is sitting in the small receiving room of her home, working diligently on her sewing. There is a faint smile on her lips as she works, and
the melody of this can be heard coming from somewhere around her.]After that horrible noise during the night, this is much more preferable. Pleasant. It reminds me of - of home. As things go, the

I like your music, too! It's really pretty. It kind of reminds me of you, Juliet! [She smiles.]
Can you hear mine? Can you? It's me and my sisters singing! It makes me so happy to hear my sisters. I love my music!

Thank you, child. I think so as well. It makes me feel very happy to hear.
[She listens carefully, tuning out her own song and focusing on the singing floating around the little girl.]
You three have such lovely voices! And I think the subject of the song is very nice. I agree with the sentiment.

Thank you! I helped write the song, too! And I played drums!

[She is very impressed.]
Poetry and music should be a part of every girl's education. I am glad your father has made sure to include it for you and your sisters.

[She beams happily. Bubbles is always so happy to be the Professor's little girl that she glows with happiness when his parenting skills are praised.] The Professor is the best! He taught me and my sisters so many things and he's so smart and kind and he tells us bedtime stories and he even plays pretend with us sometimes!

[She is glad the girl is so enthusiastic about things. She can't help but be cheerful when Bubbles is around.]
He sounds like a wonderful father to spend so much time with you and your sisters. My Nanny did much the same for me when I was growing up.

Thank you, Juliet! I think you're wonderful, too! [And she does, of course!]
[And now she's soooo curious.]
What's a Nanny? Is it kind of like a Professor?

Do you have any brothers or sisters, Juliet?

[She shakes her head.]
I am an only child. But I have many cousins who live with me at home, both male and female. Our entire family lives in a grand estate together, so I do not want for company of a similar age.

[She listens closely, finding this all so interesting.] Oh! Tybalt's your cousin, right? Did you play with him when you were little? Was he grumpy then, too?

That is the way of things in Verona. That is why Nanny teaches me at home. I learn what I will need to know in order to manage a household and be a proper wife and mother, as well as a proper lady.
We played together all the time when we were little. He has always been the dearest of all my cousins. He used to be much more cheerful than he is now, but he is the eldest of the boys, and the most likely to become head of the household when Father passes on, so he has many responsibilities now. That makes him grumpy sometimes.
[She winks at Bubbles.]
You and I will have to do our best to make him cheerful here, won't we? He should not be grumpy as often as he is. Not when we are safe and happy here.

[She giggles at Juliet's wink.]
Oh, that will be fun! How should we cheer him up, Juliet? Does he like drawings? I could draw him pictures! Or we could sing songs for him!

Singing is an excellent idea as well. It is something familiar. And dancing! My cousin likes dancing at balls, so we shall cheer him up with dancing. With all of the music around, it shall be easy.
[Tybalt may kill her for this.]

This will be so much fun! Pictures and singing and dancing! All of that just HAS to cheer him up! There's no way he could be grumpy with so many happy things around him!
[There is just NO WAY this could possibly go badly!!!]

I believe you are right. He will be overwhelmed by our efforts!
