Drummer Boy

He's in 11th grade.
I'm in 9th.
He's unique in every way. (at least that I see)
I blend in the crowd and mostly come off as a prep. (not meaning to)
He's in a band.
I'm in choir.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? Does anyone see how much we AREN'T made for each other? Yet, when I see him in the last period of the day, he interests me. He has the biggest afro I've ever seen on a white guy. His shorts come above his knees. He wears velcro shoes. He's tall and skinny. Basically, he comes off as nerdy. Typically, I don't go for nerds...actually I rarely go for anyone. I'm extremely picky. But when I see his face, it's like...holy cow. The face of an angel. I always, always want to stare, but I refrain to keep from seeming as a freak. There's not just something wrong with this picture...there's everything wrong with it. I want to stand out in a crowd the way he does. I want to be musically talented the way he is. I want to have a group of friends that make me laugh like he has. In my eyes..I have yet to find something wrong with him. Despite the fact that his hair makes people want to double-take, he seems extremely proud of who he is. I hide my face behind makeup that I redo 2 times a day. He can be beautiful without any of that. His eyes are deep blue and his smile is so big. I know it sounds like I'm in love with him or something, but I'm not just to clarify. I'm just in major admiration mode here.

Really. :)
