[Mad] - Who would win in a fight, astronauts, or cavemen? Why?

Dec 17, 2008 12:28

Why do they have to fight? No, really, I mean that. If astronauts actually got a way to MEET cavemen, would we really want the thing they take away from that to be a fight? It's a chance to learn something about our ancestors and how they lived, to really see more than what we can learn from drawings and archaeology. Shouldn't we be training our astronauts to meet other cultures with tolerance and openness? What if they met alien lifeforms that were cavemen-like and the first thing they did was start a fight? Is that what we want first contact to be? Really? Because, honestly? I don't think that's what we should be encouraging.

The astronauts should know better, and if the cavemen want to start a fight, they should surrender and let them know they come in peace.

Which, I guess, by default, would mean in the actual fight, the cavemen would win, but in the higher plane of being the better, more evolved people and representatives of a civilized and kind society the astronauts would.
