poppy season is upon us
Thought I'd drop by and let everybody know that I'm still around and kicking. I had a nice fifteen days of leave, most of which I spent freezing my butt off in MA, but it was worth it for the company alone.
I have now moved south to an Italian fob at an ANA compound located in Shindand (aka "Shins" or "SHAFT" (Shindand AirField Team)). Life is good, apart from the occasional 24 TOC duty and the fact that my kevlar is rubbing a raw spot on my head. Speaking of head trauma, I gave the old noggin' a good whack on the turret the other day, so I'll have to wait until it all heals up before I get my hair cut again. XD
My new laptop decided to take a crap on me right as I was going on leave. I didn't have the time to look into the problem, so I ordered another on my way back. Too bad I missed delivery and it got sent back to the UPS warehouse. I'd really like to get my hands on it since I just started paying the Italians an outrageous amount for monthly internet service. When I'm not sleeping or getting my vertebrae ground to dust at the turret of an MRAP (cougar :P) I have my xbox 360 to exercise all my nervous twitches (Fallout 3 is an excellent time-killer). We took a short ride back to Herat this morning for a meeting, but ended up staying for the day, so I'm getting plenty of use out of the internet here at the MWR. Given that it's nearly 2am and I now have everything to fix my terp's computer, I shall sign off and try to get some sleep!
