A new favorite

For thise of you keeping track (and I know that some of you are) I have a new favorite part of woodworking. Are you ready??? Here it is......it is STAINING!!! YAY...wait..BOOOOOOO. I now have a dislike of staining anything. Aside from the fact that I would rather see the natural wood color, it is an absolute mess to deal with, and it runs everywhere. I understand why people would like to have it stained to go with the furniture of their home, it only makes sense. For those people who make a living staining things, HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO IT???? I have only been doing it for the better part of two days and I am about ready to flip (taking a moment for a deep breath)!!!!

The table however looks AMAZING! the grain has popped out and is looking quite nice. I have just spent the better part of an hour downstairs looking at the coverage of the stain. Drip marks from the stain. Also at what parts may have been overlooked in the staining process. It is a lot to go through. As it turns out two iof the legs are going to be a little bit lighter than the other two. The grain just won't take as much stain as the others. It looks real nice however.

Aside from that I got a bad report back from my substitute about my class yesterday. She said that they were disrespectful, and would not stop talking. All of this from the sub who happens to be the MOTHER of one of my students. I talked to her this morning. She looked me in the face and said, "I know that you said that they talk alot, but this is a little ridiculous. How do you do it?" It is nice to know that someone finally appreciates what I do for a living. So I took away my classes lunch recess and made them writ eapology letters to the sub. I think that they got the idea that I was ticked. Usually they are better for subs than they are for me. I think that spring has just gotten to thier heads.

I am at home for the next day and a half. Working on the table, going to the flea market with my dad (depending on the weather). Should be a fun time. Hope that your weekend plans are just as fun filled as mine!
