haven't updated in a while. not much has been going on, although last
night, i must say, was pretty eventful. started off with missy
callin me telling me to get my ass up and ready, so i kicked it into
gear and 3 hours later, i got a shower. an hour later, i got
dressed. yea. then dennis came and picked me up. (he
picked me up because he thought my car was still dead... shit, i'll
have to do a little side story. i'll get back to this, just
remember where i left off!)
yea, so i drove home from school on tuesday and parked my car, nothing
seemed wrong, etc. so, 9:30 rolls around, so i get ready, grab
the ol' bass and head out the door. so, i go to unlock my
car. no click. "that's strange.." i think to myself.
so i open it manually, throw the bass in the back seat, and get
in. turn the key. it starts, and dies after a second.
so i'm like "...wtf" now, i had JUST put a new battery in
less than a year ago after my car got broken into at maura's college,
where the fuckers ripped... and i'm talking ripped the
stereo out of my car. and smashed the interior light!
wtf! the switch is right there! it would have taken less
effort to just reach up and click the switch to off. i guess that
was just too mentally challenging for them. what ever happened to
thief etiquette? anyway... i checked all of the fuses, they were
fine. still didn't start up. so dennis came to pick me up
for band practice, etc.etc. the next day, my dad and i took the
battery down to the autoparts store and, just to make sure, he asked
the guy to test the battery. the battery read more voltage than
it was supposed to be, so the battery was fine. so, we took it
back, threw it back in the car....started right up. and it runs
better than ever. uggg.
SO ANYWAY, back to the story of last night. dennis picked me up
and we headed over to jess and eric's to meet everyone. got
there. eric, jess, missy, bethany, tiff, and smitty were
there. and so the trek began... after the mandatory wawa
stop. so, we get there, and wow, the wildwood convention center
is actually -nice-. i never went into the new one, and it
impressed me, i must say. but anyway, so we walk in, and
immediately i feel like an old man. 13-15 year olds running
around everywhere. i remember thinking "wow... did i look that
gay when i was an angsty high schooler?" but it all got better as
soon as we decided to make a stop at the "beer garden", which was
actually just a section they blocked off for 21 and older with this
tiny bar setup thing with one old dude bartending with an unnecessarily
cocky attitude. so, i got a capt. and coke and went over to the
group. i can't believe how many people i saw that i totally
forgot even existed. it was crazy. kinda like high school
except minus the assholes and plus new assholes that i've never seen
before, but they weren't talking to us anyway, so it was alright.
so then we went in to watch the bands. ok, i admit that i might
be biased, but seriously... house divided and morelisedge blew away
these other bands that got up there. totally. and neither
won. this pussy whine-core shit-band won. and it's a bunch
of bullshit because they got all this hype in the local paper before the battle of the band even happened!! what
the shit is that?! so yea. we had about 40 people booing up
in the crowd :D that's including house divided and morelisedge,
of course, heheh. oh yea, and octane rocked, of course. so
after the show, we headed over to the shamrock. now, understand,
by this point i was pretty tired. i'm an old man, shut up.
but i'm seriously so glad i went. it was the best part of the
night. house divided, morelisedge, and sideshow were invited to
play at the shamrock (which is almost unheard of) and... what a
difference. the sound quality was 10 times better. and
house divided were ON... and
it was even better because just about everyone showed up, so i'd say
about half of the place were all people i knew and friends of
mine. i even got to see mandi and my cousin, who i never get to
see anymore. it was a really good time. weird though, i
never get drunk anymore. ever. only tipsy at most.
maybe i'm growing up? nah. it's probably because i don't
like being completely wasted, i like keeping it at the tipsy
level. i like being able to speak coherently. or maybe i
just like not spending $40 in one night :P either way, i had a
good time.
in other recent news, my dad's truck is out for the count. the
thing that people need to understand (especially my dad) is that huge
engines and rain do not mix. yea.
he was coming off of the cape may bridge heading towards north cape may
and his rear-end swung out and he slid into a pole. he's totally
fine, and that's the important part... but the truck now has a
passenger door in the shape of a half circle inwards. when a
trunk is pulling 600-650 horse power, it doesn't matter how gentle you
are with the gas pedal. your tires will
spin in the rain. i swear... my old man has been in more
accidents than anyone should ever come out of alive. i swear he
has 9 fucking lives. this might seem a bit harsh, but you don't
know my dad, and you're not me. after a while, you start to say
to yourself "...come the fuck on, dad..." *sigh*
hmm. can't think of much else that has been going on
lately. except school going smoothly as usual. oh, and i've
got a little online game going now. in the process of coding the
base for it and everything, so that should take up some of my idle time
and keep my coding skills active. oh, and i'm addicted to
pogo...
you don't know unless you've tried it. seriously... if you went
to mcdonalds and played that stupid monopoly game, go to
playatmcd
and enter the codes and you win free month subscriptions to club
pogo. i got 10 months added up already, haha. and i plan on
getting my money's worth! err... well, you get the point.
:p tri-peak solitaire and canasta are the BEST THINGS IN THE
WORLD... EVER. seriously, i'm so addicted. and i get
chances at winning money with the tokens i get! how much more do
you need, people? free stuff... for playing free games. i
don't see any reason not to play. other than wasting entire days
of time. :D .......wow, i just wasted an entire paragraph in my
journal to talk about pogo.
well shit, if i make this entry any bigger, i'll have to put some of it
in a cut. i think that means i should probably stop here.
hope you enjoyed this edition of JL's LJ! (damn, i am one clever mother
fucker)
