HBP film 'A load of old Hogwarts'?

Woe! I feared as much. Ever since I read that Yates wanted to bring out the 'humour' in his next film, I have had a horrible suspicion that much of HBP would be turned into ridiculous romcom at the expense of the much more important and Darker story line ( Read more... )

I agree with the antagonising fans comment. For me they whole thing HP movie phenomenon has lost momentum. I’ll see what the consensus is before rushing to see it. I’ll see, it but I may wait. No risk of getting it early here anyway. My recent positive HP experience has been listening to the lasts 2 books read by Stephen Fry. Darn the man is good.

Ah yes! The audio versions. My son has the first four on cassette tape. He used to listen to them every night ... I might dig them out and listen myself if they are not completely worn out! Maybe SF can help re-kindle my HP love. :-))

what??? SF reading HP??!! Aaaaaa! Another must-have item for me! Bird, do you know if SF's HPs are available in mp3 or on CDs? Do you think I could find those when in the UK?

LOL! I thought that you knew about this! Stephen Fry read and recorded the entire HP series! The audio books are all easily available to buy on CD or download as mp3 - but unfortunately they are expensive. For example, 'Philosopher's Stone' costs around £16 for the 7 disc set or to download from iTunes. The longer volumes cost much more. :-/ I will see if I can find any cheaper or free sources ... but failing that, I'm sure my big D would let you listen to some of his collection on old-fashioned cassette tape! :-)

The US publishers also produce a similar set read by another British actor, Jim Dale ... but that won't interest you so much!

Type 'Harry Potter audio book' into the You Tube search box, and all the audio books are listed ... but unfortunately most seem to have been removed for copyright reasons. I can't find any HBP any more. :-/

But here is a sample still surviving from PS to give you a flavour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVcWTYOFy9g
