So - I have found the perfect mutual interest for mother and teenage son. Marvel superhero movies!
He enjoys the comic strip heroes, the fight scenes and the special effects.
I enjoy the cute guys as superheroes and the other well-known actors as the baddies.
We both enjoy the ironic humour and general mayhem. We share a mega-bucket of popcorn. It’s a win, win situation!
After our initial trip to Ironman a few weeks back, we pledged to return to see The Incredible Hulk together. So this afternoon we did just that. All good clean fun as usual. Edward Norton was a cute Bruce Banner. But in this instance the main attraction for me was to see Tim Roth as the Hulk’s nemesis: a Russian, brought up in England, working for the US military, named Emil Blonsky, who becomes ‘The Abomination’. LOL! The wroth of Roth was excellent to behold! And for added oomph, there was a cameo appearance at the very end by Robert Downey Jr, reprising his role as Tony Stark - the Ironman without his ironmongery - Hurrah!
Now my son and I are pledged to continue with the rest of these films about Stan Lee Marvel comic creations, and the promised formation of the five 'Avengers’. But I’m not too sad to notice that Ironman 2 is already pledged for production in the meantime. I’m not so keen on the idea of ‘Ant-Man’ or ‘Wasp’ myself … but then again, it all depends upon who will be playing them …
So, Blonsky before it all goes monstrously wrong for him!
But tell me, is vest wearing obligatory for superheroes?
