It's blowing a gale outside and the skies are darkening as a storm from the north approaches - so I'm very pleased not to have to go anywhere this afternoon!
Life has been much busier than usual due to having daughter resident at home again temporarily. We have seen Gravity in 3D, attended an RSC screening of David Tennant's Richard II, and then two nights ago we went to the highlight of the unexpected treat that is the season of West End musicals on tour come to a local(ish) venue - Cabaret starring Will Young
http://www.vivacity-peterborough.com/theatres-and-arts/the-broadway-theatre/cabaret/which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Additionally, in between the above, last weekend I was in London for a day to see Jude Law as Henry V. It was a cheap ticket bought eighteen months ago, and I'm glad to say that it was well worth the effort of fighting my way through the Christmas shoppers, rugby fans heading to Twickenham, etc. Once more I was in the precipitous upper balcony of the Noel Coward theatre - but at least this time in the centre of the front row! Thus I had a pretty good view. Also attended an innovative production of The Magic Flute by ENO in the evening. Am being too lazy to properly review events. It's been an embarrassment of riches and it's not over yet... as on Saturday it's back to London with daughter to see Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake plus Tom Hiddleston as Coriolanus at the Donmar. After that I'm going into hibernation... until the release of The Desolation of Smaug. :-)
