first week of classes

Well, the first week of classes is over.
I'm so much more tired than I thought I would be. I've been going non-stop since Tuesday and it's only the first week :P
No rest for the wicked, though, as tomorrow I have to do inventory and paint the theatre I'm TDing, and figure out my food situation.

All of my yearmates are super-sweet and competent.
One of them even randomly packed me a lunch because she knew I was crazy-busy and had no food. :P
And out of the blue, my officemate bought a a vellum pad and gave me half.
Crazy!

The other MFAs in the theatre department also seem very personable and, above all, competent. The programme demands a lot of commitment, but as a result, everyone is surprisingly not-an-asshole.
The profs are also very high calibre and friendly and intelligent.

So, despite the fact that I'm getting my ass kicked by the workload (plus shop hours, homework, TDing and production assignments), I'm really enjoying myself.
I'm learning stuff I didn't know before, and I don't just mean reading new books and formulating opinions about them. I'm learning to draft, to render, to plot and plan and work.

It's daunting but fun. I know in a couple of weeks I'll be ripping my hair out, but it'll be in a good way. I think.
