Christmas was amazing this year. I totally was in a giving mode rather than receiving and that makes the holidays just that much better. My sister and dad loved their books, and my mom loved her picture. And it's wonderful because the best gifts are yet to be given!

Anyway, I got 5 Margaret Atwood books (one I have to return cuz Emily already got it for me), Exuberance by Kay Redfield Jamison, tons of earrings, $152 worth of gas cards (YAY!), silly clothes from my grandma (she tries so hard), AND...

So my mom makes Santas. She's way good at it and could probably sell them for $500+ but hasn't tried yet. We were talking earlier this year about her going to another class but having no idea what to do for another Santa (she's made 6 or so, and they're all beautiful and different). I joked to her about making a pirate Santa ("Yeah, 'Yo Ho Ho, right?"") and then I mentioned making a Dumbledore, cuz he kinda looks like Santa and it could totally work.

Well, yesterday morning she comes up from the basement with this huge something in a garbage bag and it took me a second but then I knew exactly what it was. This Dumbledore/Santa is FREAKING AWESOME. I can't wait to get a picture of it up. You will all be impressed. It's amazing. My mother is so effing talented.

So yeah, Christmas was simple and wonderful. It snowed most of yesterday but it didn't stick much. Which is way sad because Thomas is coming tomorrow and he may not see the kinda snow I had planned for him.

THOMAS IS COMING TOMORROW. This makes me so happy. I know he will read this and smile just as I am smiling now, thinking of him. We're going to the Henry Ford Museum and Echo Valley (tobogganing/tubing/ice skating). And we're going up to Soaring Eagle Casino to waste money and enjoy an awesome buffet. And of course, we're going to watch movies and sit by the fire and drink hot chocolate and be all mushy, cuz that's what we're like. Borderline pathetic but we don't care.

I won't be updating again until 2006, so see you on the other side, yo.
