"The Flash" started off so darn well starting with issue 200. Wally West has a secret that he doesn't even know about anymore: he's the Flash! This new "Flash" has been running strong and hard until now. This whole "Identity Crisis" tie-in with the Top is getting a little rediculas. I should warn you, if you have not read this issue, a few spoilers are coming up in this post.
Flash & Zatanna succeed in "curing" the Top. He's no longer a nut-job spinning around in a circle like an idiot. Now, he's in full evil mode spinning about like an idiot. After Barry Allen, the 2nd Flash, had Zatanna make the Top a good guy, he tried to help out the Flash by using his superior mind to turn some of the Rogues good, which is why they have been flip-flopping from good and evil over the years. [NOTE: this is leading up to the six part story arch coming in March 2005 "The Rogue Wars" -- and I'm looking forward to it.] Between the Flash and Zatanna, the Top still manages to get away after beating them up. He was just a drooling turd a page before. How could he get the upper hand on these two season veterans of crime fighting? The war of the Rogues begins as the original Trickster gathers three other Rogues together to clean up Keystone and Central Cities. Piper, Heat Wave and some woman are the good Rogues who are going to hunt their own. It's sort of like they're about to clean up their house and that means going against Captain Cold, the Mirror Master, this new Trickster and those other Rogues running around loose. Meanwhile, the evil Rogues are planning to steal the fallen body of Captain Boomerang to give him a proper burial and a Rogue's funeral. Captain Boomerang's son is not only a speedster, but he's the new Captain Boomerang [after spending an hour or so learning how to through a boomerang by his father in a page during "Identity Crisis"]. To top it all off, Linda Park is back! As a reporter! She stopped being a reporter and started going to school to be something better.
Notice that Linda has come back at the end of "Identity Crisis". Does this mean that she's the killer? It's possible. But what worries me is how calm she is. Is she finally at peace about the death of her unborn babies? Maybe being the killer in "IC" has calmed her down.
