Thank you, thank you.

I would like to extend a thank-you to those that attended and helped out at Marks suprise 30th BD party on Sat. There was tons of food, beer and fun, and most importantly friends! For those that weren't there, hope to see you next time! Summer is just starting ya know!

On to a completely different subject. I have two new reasons to hate the people I work with:
1) No one cleans the microwave but also no one uses a paper plate to cover food and prevent splashing. So the microwave is becoming quite disqusting and when I ask someone if the cleaning lady was supposed to do it he responded 'you know i think since it's a health issue it should be the health and safety persons responsability'. BTW I am the health and safety contact and no, cleaning your baked-on meatball gravy slop because your too lazy to put on plate on top of it is NOT my job.
2) Our secretary is not on the ball on buying blue recycle bags. Now that we are substituting black bags (which I take home and put into a blue one anyway) people have become confused and are no longer recycling. They are putting regular trash into the recycle bin. When we were all in line to use the nasty microwave I looked in there and said to everyone 'You know guys, cardboard and ziplocks aren't recycleable. I mean, I wish they were, but they aren't'. The only reply was 'I don't put anything in there'. And everyone else ignored me.

I work with engineers and scientists, but they can't figure out something as simple as cleaning up after themselves or recycling. We're doomed.
