Tita smiled as she doublechecked the nexus. "Guys! We're on the clock!" Balboa gave her a strange look. He knew they didn't see a client in days, and there were no communications with anyone on the horn. "We have to find someone a hairless pet!" Balboa started to ask Tita if she wanted the pet until Nichol vocally bowled him over.
"EXCELLENT, TITA!" Nichol exclaimed. "Land, sea, or air?"
Tita blinked and ummed as she put the laptop away. "Let's try for land. The asker is a friend of the true owner. Plus, it'll be in an apartment."
Balboa scowled. That tore it. "Tita! We're not getting Eiko a damned pet! I know we never got asked for anything since the last job," he ranted, giving the young woman a hard look. The brunette merely smiled and said, "It's not for anyone here." Balboa looked at her, uncertain.
"I'm doing a favor for a nexusite, and she's allergic to fur," Tita explained.
A voice came from the newly opened door. "That naked mole rat we saw on Sages last year seemed intelligent enough, and we could see if there are still any here." Everyone turned and saw the statuesque blonde that was the ship's doctor. Mei's words had all of the logic and sense of the world in it, and as a doctor, she would know how to fix an allergy. Tita beamed and gave the word to find any kind naked mole rats on, or off the world.
