[Transmitting...]

[A door slams shut and there's a muffled sound of someone leaning against it; then she swears softly.]

... D'Arvit.

Expect the floor's 's good 's th'bed. But-

[A dull thud as her helmet rolls from her fingers to the floor of her bedroom, then she pushes herself up and drags herself to bed, not even bothering to change out of ( Read more... )

[Trouble returns probably shortly after her and goes in to check on her. Of course he's telling himself that its because he's her superior officer and nothing else!]

[Muttered] She never learns.

[Goes over to the bed and whispers heal and lets blue sparks run across her to take care of any wounds she has. Then he gets a blanket and puts it over her, just for good measure.]

[She hardly stirs when he speaks, but it's the tingle of magic across her skin that gets her attention, as vague and distant as it is. The elf turns her face away from where it was buried into her pillow as the blanket drags over her, eyes flickering open in a flash of hazel and blue.]

[Eyebrows knit briefly when she focuses on him, but she doesn't speak, instead closing her eyes again with a barely-noticeable smirk.]

[He's a bit embarassed but does not blush. LEP's golden boy NEVER blushes.]

How is it that you're so exhuasted you can barely make it your bed but you can still smirk?

[She cracks open an eye-her blue one-and the smirk doesn't falter, small enough to betray how tired she is but prominent enough to prove that she's as cheeky as ever.]

[Quietly amused.] ... Because I'm just that talented, sir.

[He can't help but be a bit weirded out by the blue eye but he hides it well and instead smirks in return. He;s running hot so he's not as tired.]

Right. Talented. Which is why you're the one lying there exhausted and I'm still standing.

[Holly snorts at this and closes her eye, instead reaching out and feebly punching at whatever bit of him she can reach.]

So I didn't have time to complete the Ritual... Don't you rag on me for it.

[He rolls his eyes at the feeble attack. He grins a bit and flicks her forehead in retaliation, though not too hard.]

You can perform it when you're rested up.

[His former grin widens.]

And after that we can spar. You're getting rusty if that's how strang you're punching.

[Her eyes flicker open again at the touch and she rolls them at him, but not in irritation.]

Root would've never allowed that.

[Some colour rises in her pale (as pale as nut-brown can go, anyway) cheeks at the barb, but then she manages a chuckle.]

You'd be surprised how much I've improved in three years, Trouble. This isn't me at my best, you realise.

[He genuinely smiles seeing some healthy color return to her cheeks.]

You'd be surprised by how much I've improved, Holly. I haven't spent the last three years behind a desk you know.

[Smiles as he does and after a moment, rolls onto her back with a quiet groan of exertion, leaving him a spot to sit if he wants to, but doesn't voice the offer aloud.]

... I'm surprised you're not commander yet.

[He sits down and is tempted to give her another dose of magic to help her out.]

Actually... I was three days from being promoted when I ended up here.

[Wonders briefly at how this should be awkward but it strangely isn't, and chalks it up to having known each other for years and so she remains relaxed. She cocks an eyebrow at his words, torn between being impressed and disappointed.]

That's too bad-I can't think of a better fairy to do the job. Commander Kelp's got a nice ring to it.

The papaerwork was torture. I was nipping up the surface for a while when well... I ended up here.

[Slight smirk]

If Foaly ends up here, don't say a word about the shuttle. It was brand new before that train hit it.
