Life in LA

So after sleeping for a few days after the horrible move, I'm finally being productive again and working on getting some shit put away to make this place feel like home. Still not adjusted to living in downtown LA, but I'm sure that will come in time. I think I am still depressed about being away from everyone I know, even though it's just a short distance and I didn't really go out that often when I lived in Vegas anyway.

The apartment itself is awesome, the whole place is only about a year old and the amenities and appliances are pimp status. Parking here is horrible however, and as it is I literally have to walk about 10 minutes to get to where my car is parked, which is costing me $75 a month. After talking to the security guard on the premises I've discovered in general where not to travel on foot at night, which is just about everywhere. On the bright side, everything looks very nice during the day and the weather is beautiful. I like to think that after living in North Las Vegas on MLK for six months I am better prepared for living in the heart of LA. So despite that fact that parking is shit and less than a week into my 1 year lease I'm wishing we had moved to a nice suburb of LA instead, all in all things are ok.

Also, all day today there has been mariachi music blasting through some kind of PA system on Olvera Street, which is right across the street from my apartment. The double glass windows do nothing to stop it. I can't help but laugh.
