Warning: Post contains spoilers.
1. The guys got much cuter between books 5 and 6 (Cormac and Blaise, anyone?).
2. Luna is still awesome and I am proud to have dressed as her tonight. She has the coolest outfits.
3. Snape and Draco are getting it on. (Snape shoves Draco against the wall. Draco: "I'm chosen, I don't need protection!" Ahem. I think maybe I have a new pairing.)
4. Harry potter is a comedy, unless Dumbledore is dead, in which case it's an Edgar Allen Poe story.
5. Ginny weasly is a robot. (see: every line delivered in a monotone. Also compulsive need to tie Harry's shoe. Clearly a robot.)
6. The film crew doesn't totally hate me since notsosubtle Remus/Tonks was present. Although the lack of Sirus!angst was bothersome. Bruther just died, hello, where's grieving Harry?
7. The human race does in fact have hope. My theater booed edward Cullen and cheered for Jacob Black in the New Moon trailer. And just generally booed Twilight at the start of the trailer.
8. Bellatrix is fucking awesome. Bahahaha.
9. The movie was still cool. After all, there was quidditch. What more could I really ask for?
Over all, I enjoyed the film. It wasn't anything superb, and some of the acting really bothered me, and parts of it were totally melodramatic, but it was fun. Ginny I am beginning to dislike more and more as I watch the films, because in the books she honestly did not bother me, and her romance with Harry was sweet, but in the movies she's just this awkward presence who doesn't say much, and what she does say is badly written and oddly delivered. I loved the comedy in the movie, and Ron (Won-Won!) was totally rockin'. Also, I really loved Snape/Alan Rickman in this one, even if Alan Rickman is getting kind of old and fat. But he is so badass as Snape and his scenes were pretty awesome.
The Quidditch scenes were epic and well done and fun to watch, especially since we've been Quidditch deprived for a few films now. But then it switched from comedy to total drama at the end, and the flow was definitely interrupted. Also, while I enjoyed the comedy, I think this film should have been a little darker, a little more desperate. After all, Voldemort is back, Dumbledore and Hogwarts are in grave peril, and the world is being over run by Death Eaters. I wish we could have seen some of that desperation in the movie.
I think the thing that bothered me most though was the fact that they cut the epic Hogwarts Battle at the end. It's like, no, the Death Eaters did not just come to kill Dumbledore and stalk off into the night. They're supposed to rampage Hogwarts. We're supposed to see students and teachers in danger! DANGER, DAMNIT, BECAUSE DUMBLEDORE'S DEAD AND THEIR PROTECTION IS GONE! That was one of the things that made the 6th book what it was. Because really the 6th book is a bridge setting up the 7th book; setting the scene and Harry's final mission. You can't do that if there's not appropriate drama and turmoil.
But yeah. Movie was fun anyway. I liked watching the Harry-Hermione interactions, Harry on the luck potion was so cute and hilarious, and Slughorn was great. Also, at what other time of the year do I have an excuse to dress up in a witch's hat, carry around a mock copy of the Quibbler, and force a car-full of people into listening to Wizard Rock the entire drive downtown? :)
