SOOPER FUN DRABBLE MEME!

Sep 22, 2008 16:29

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 5 of these, then post.

Oh goodness! This was so much fun I actually did six of them! :D Originally I just chose "Sirius" as my topic, but that ended up expanding to include "Sirius, Remus, and Lily". And it only took like 15 minutes!

And I actually used pandora.com, because it's always on shuffle and has more of "my" music than my iTunes does -- seeing as I share iTunes with my dad and brother.

These haven't been edited except to fix spelling and to change a few very, very minor misdeeds (like a "he" to a "Sirius" somewhere, I think. haha.)

Bite My Tongue - Relient K

Remus Lupin was not generally an angry person, nor was he generally prone to fist fights.

So Sirius was thoroughly caught off guard when his back slapped against the floor, and a growling Remus Lupin climbed on top of him, fists flying.

“What’d I say? What’d I say?” Sirius cried, hands flapping about in a vain attempt to fight off Remus’ agile fists. One connected with his cheek bone, and Sirius saw four tiny golden snitches fly about the corners of his eyes.

“I didn’t mean it!” Sirius wailed, making a mental not to keep his mouth shut next time, or so help him god.

Things That Disappear - Rhett Miller

“Lily seems happy these days,” Remus commented, leaning against the kitchen door frame. Lily was in the next room, cooing to Harry and throwing pillows at James as he attempted to help “tidy up”.

“Mhm,” Sirius commented idly from the table, running his fingers across the cracks in the wood. “She and James were always meant to be.”

“I’m glad they finally figured that out,” Remus piped. “And little Harry’s just so adorable.”

“Mhm,” Sirius grunted, biting the inside of his cheek. So long as Lily was happy, Sirius would be miserable. She may have forgotten him, but he wouldn’t forget her.

“Ah, love.”

“Yup,” Sirius sighed.

Purpose - Cold Cult

The wood scratched against Sirius’ back, and he withheld a cough of dust. The room was cold, but Remus’ lips and hands were hot.

Remus hadn’t wanted to. Sirius had seen it in his eyes, the way he’d made a point to leave a room when Sirius entered it. (And he’d thought he’d been being subtle, the bastard).

But Sirius had cornered him, forced him to look at him talk to him kiss him.

And now Sirius didn’t know where his shirt was, where his head was, where his life was. He just wanted to make the knot of pain in his chest disappear. If he couldn’t go out into the world, he would bring the world to him. There had to be a purpose to this waiting, this hiding, this avoiding.

The wood scratched, his lips pressed, his heart beat. An entanglement of limbs and memories.

Somewhere Sirius dared not venture, he knew the end was near.

Heels Over Head - Boys Like Girls

Remus hated that stupid motorcycle. Hated that Sirius spent so much time pruning it when he should be in here, with him.

And when Sirius went out the door with that helmet under his arm, Remus scowled into his tea and hunched over his book, pretending that he didn’t care. That it didn’t matter.

Who cared about stupid motorcycles anyway?

And that evening, when Sirius came home with wind in his hair and grease on his boots, and he threw Remus’ tea cup across the room screaming, “Why won’t you pay attention to me like you do your stupid books?” Remus grinned and pulled him close.

Have I Been a Fool? - Jack Penate

Remus hadn’t meant to come home early that night, but sometimes things like this happened. The apartment had been dark and he’d clicked a few lights on.

Remus hadn’t meant to walk into Sirius’ room that night, but sometimes things like this happened. He wanted a shirt and his were in the wash.

And when he saw a black main and red tresses, tan arms and pale legs, a bundle of sheets and a bra on the floor, Remus’s mind froze.

It was just a kiss, Sirius had said years ago, It doesn’t mean anything.

And Remus realized he was a fool.

Shake It - Metro Station

“I refuse.”

“But you have to.”

“Lily, you know I am not one for dancing.”

“It’s my wedding, you have to do what I say.” She tugged his arms, and he groaned.

“Isn’t that what James is for?”

“Yes.” But she pulled him onto the dance floor anyway, and he did a quick search for places he could hide. Before he could make his getaway, Lily had pulled his arms around her and was dragging him across the floor. He tried his hardest not to step on her feet.

“Shake it, Moony, shake it!” Sirius called in glee from the sidelines. Remus, who had felt he was just getting into the groove, stopped and glared at him. Unfortunately it was his turn to waltz backwards, and as Lily shoved him, he fell over and dragged her down with him until all that was visible under her ridiculous white dress was a single flailing limb.
