The Perfect Liar

Jun 09, 2006 21:47

we can skip past this casual conversation,
I know what you're here for,
you still taste the same, but
like a stranger,
it feels as if we've never done this before.

I was never bitter,
never the fool.
I never loved you;
I never loved you.
I'd hate to see you go.
-- I'm the best liar you'll ever know.

ever the slut,
you slide your hand across your stomach,
             your teeth grasp your tongue,
and I'd stand next to you as you smoked, the wind caused a chill.
             helplessly, I whispered to myself
                                                   I don't love you
                                                  I never loved you
I'm the best liar you'll ever know

and now I've wasted the remains of the day,
I wish I could see it all from
your point of view,
                     the midnights, the mornings,
the living, breathing colors that are inside you

smoking, poetry, poems, music
