"Here comes Diggins! Here comes Diggins! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! GOLD!"

I love amazing finishing kicks at the Olympics. I also love commentators who are genuinely thrilled at what they're witnessing.

So here's my favorite moment of the 2018 Winter Olympics (two months late -- sorry). Prior to 2018, the U.S. had only won one medal in cross-country skiing, and that was in 1976. In 2018, Jessie Diggins has missed bronze by under five seconds -- twice. With 20 seconds left in the team event, she's in third place, but makes a quick pass to move into second. Color commentator Chad Salmela goes wonderfully bonkers in describing what happens next:
HERE COMES DIGGINS!

In the final leg of the 2008 4x100 freestyle, Jason Lezak chases down the best freestyle sprinter in the world (you might want to skip to 3:00):
HERE COMES LEZAK!

Billy Mills, despite having been shoved on the final lap of the 10000 meter race, and despite having run much faster than he ever has before, unleashes the most ferocious kick in the history of track. Dick Bank, the color commentator, was fired by NBC after the race; I bet he had no regrets.
LOOK AT MILLS!
