#69 Various Acts @ The Ship Inn, Blaxhall 17/08/17
An Open Mic night at this somewhat famous (in folk circles) pub. Highlights are some comic songs from a lady with a zither, a marvellously dapper gent and his son playing the blues, a woman doing some virtuoso classical guitar, an unexpected visitor of Crystal Palace, a beautiful self penned song from the German barmaid about how she ended up Blaxhall, and

#70 The Busking Sharks @ Sunset Stage 18/08/17
An act from Norwich apparently. Very good songs about Wherry beer and a bit or Larkin. We left early though to go do the open mic at the soapbox stage, where who should be on again but...
#71 Honey and the Bear @ Broad Roots Stage 18/08/17
Young folk duo providing a very pleasant interlude in the little tent.
#72 India Electric Company @ Moot Hall Stage 18/08/17
Quirky inventive duo. The songs were good and they were clearly very talented but it only occasionally produced something really good. I expect they will get a lot better though.
#73 Beoga @ Sunset Stage 18/08/17
Northern Irish group doing songs and tunes. Cracking stuff.
#74 Jon Boden @ Sunset Stage 18/08/17
Doing a set of his own songs and old Bellowhead numbers. Like the last time we saw him I thought he lacked a bit of power for the large venue (outdoors this time) without a band behind him. Without the oomph of band the Bellowhead numbers tended to just rub in the pain of loosing that band (we used to see them twice a year minimum) rather than reviving the glory. His own stuff is genuinely good though. Sadly he only did a couple off the forthcoming new album, I would have liked to have heard more.
