A More Perfect Union

This man just gets more and more impressive. Even if I had been wavering before, this would have tipped the balance in his favour. As it is, it has just cemented my opinion that he is the most impressive potential candidate since Bobby Kennedy (and I hope to the Gods that I'm not tempting fate here!) He seems to understand the realities of the world rather than just the party ideology; he's not afraid to address the difficult issues, and understands that it will not be easy to put things to rights; he understands that the "war" in Iraq has been a disaster and that getting out of the situation the USA finds itself in today will not be easy, but must be tackled.

Compare that to the incumbent's claims of victory (reminiscent of "Mission Accomplished, no?). Reminds me a little bit of another speech given just under 70 years ago by another soon-to-be-no-longer national leader. Only I think he had a hell of a better idea what was really going on back then than the Shrub does what's going on today.

hope, obama, usa, a more perfect union
