Father's day
I haven't made a rant in quite some time so I've decided for what its worth I'm going to make one that I feel I have every right to make. Today is Father's day, a day most people think is a stupid excuse for business to pull in extra money by buying presents for your father's grandfather's and whoever else (same shit as mother's day). A holiday solely created for those businesses to rake in more money...but you are mistaken. You see, Father's day (and Mother's day as well) can only be a shitty consumer filled day if you make it like that. This day should be a day where you let your dad know how much you appreciate/love/enjoy/miss him!
My words are basically these: Don't let these opportunities pass you by because you never know when they'll be gone!
I don't care how much you think your father is a chode or a douche bag...how fucking hard is it to say that your glad you have a dad. Now if your dad is a serial killer...I might understand why you don't want to say anything to him...but seeing as how I know no one where that is the case...
You don't have to play into the consumer portion of this day, but if you want to buy your dad a gift, go for it! But just calling your dad up and saying happy Father's day will be just as meaningful.
Take my thoughts for what they are worth, but I can honestly say that I wish I had said something to my dad on every Father's day, but I didn't. It doesn't take much to just give him a call, but it will mean so much more!
