Shine On

Thomas Jefferson visited my dreams the other night. I stole him away to my closet and showed him my dresses, which now had lace and ruffles all over them, and I asked him if they looked like something he would wear because apparently people had been accusing me of dressing like Thomas Jefferson. He said he didn't wear dresses, so he didn't really see why people thought I looked like him. I thought he was very likeable, and we went off for a tour of my painting teacher's studio.
Good dream.

Speaking of painting class, it ended on Thursday. That is to say, yesterday. The damage has been done, though, and I feel very strongly about not giving up painting for the school year. I'm done with feeling like death by April. Plus I think I know what college I want to go to, because it has everything I'm interested in. I've decided that I shouldn't have to give up on anything I like. And it feels so much better to have an good end in sight...

I went to the County Fair with my mother today to look at the exhibits, as per usual. Because we must. I cleaned up in the textile department with the clothes I entered. Easy money, that. Also, there was a trio of sisters dressed in old-school women's military garb singing at a talent show and they were brilliant. Last year there was a Hispanic polka band that I thought would be impossible to top, but this was pretty damn close.

And that's about it. I haven't started my reading for English class yet and probably won't for another few days. I have more important things to do.
