These vagabond shoes...(AU rp for get_me_a_drink)

New York was a hell of a long way from Riverside, Iowa. And the Jim Kirk he saw in the cracked and dirty mirror was a hell of a long way from the Jim Kirk that had dropped out of high school with dreams of being a guitar player four years ago. He wasn't quite sure when he'd given up on the dream of making some fortune with the fender in its ( Read more... )

Didn't really want to be wandering the streets in the middle of the night. Didn't want to feel the loneliness curling around his heart and tugging on his strings. Didn't want to have to amble through the midnight streets to find something to do, someone to see. Definitely didn't want to glance that boy over as he approached, because despite what Leonard McCoy was desperate to do, he was better than this ( ... )

Jim's eyes slid over the man with a practiced ease and his smile ticked up a notch as he took in the sight of the stranger. It wasn't always the case that his marks were good looking, and more often than not they weren't because the attractive ones could more often than not find their own company without pulling out their wallet. Nah, the kind he saw down here tended to be worn down on life, and had lost their looks because of it, if they had any to begin with.

This guy, well, it seemed like he'd been to the school of hard knocks with the rest of them, there was a deep set pain around his eyes and in the furrow where he should have had a smile, but his hardship certainly didn't take away from the fact that he was a damn handsome man. Eyes that were somewhere between green and brown, lips that women would kill to have, and a ruggedness that reminded him of things he really didn't want to think too much about.

He moved closer to the man, an arm sliding around his waist as he let the man direct him towards wherever his car might be.

To be honest, he was far too tired to be coy. Too tired to pretend he didn't understand what he was doing. Too worn out to cover up his shame for his newest purchase. He led the boy, (What was he, twenty-three? Twenty-five? Too young.) to his car, let him sit in the front with him and drove off.

The way there was mostly quiet on his part, if the boy talked, Leonard was awfully caught up in his own thoughts to consider hide blonde company. The climb to his apartment seemed to wear at him, at his morals, at his sanity and he sighed heavy when he keyed the lock. His place was actually relatively neat, leftover habits from his short-lived medical career.

He dropped down on the bed, and began to undo his shoes, before finally speaking.

"How much for the entire night, kid?" Asked Leonard, voice gruff and unforgiving. Whoops. Don't want to scare the kid. He's so... young.

"An'... how did someone like you end up doin' this for a livin' anyways? Yer' too pretty to be this way. Name's McCoy, but ya'll can call me Leonard."

Yeah, there wasn't much talking on his end. He could tell when his marks didn't want to spend their time chattering to try and hide what they were doing - maybe it made them feel like they were on a date or something, he wasn't sure - and it was no skin of his back, he actually preferred it if he was being honest.

The fabric of the car seat was an odd sensation against the skin of his lower back, and he leaned back, head turned to the side to watch the side slide past the window as they drove, wandering somewhere in his own thoughts instead of enticing the man sitting beside him, but he figured if the guy was committed enough to get him in a car, he was committed enough Jim didn't need to keep him around with words or an extra flash of skin.

And yeah, soon enough they were wandering up the steps to a small, but tidy apartment in Queens. Jim stepped over the threshold curiously, eyes wandering around the space and taking in all the little details as the man removed his shoes ( ... )
