Drabble
Another "double" drabble! I'll dedicate it to marauderthesn, from whom I first heard of this pairing -- if she doesn't mind, of course :).
Title: Closer (A Somewhat Sad Ending to a Happy Date)

Severus Snape’s sweaty right hand held his left wrist firmly behind his back as he willed his feet to stop rocking him back and forth. He hoped the rocking was not noticeable.
“I had a wonderful night, Severus.”
Snape nodded, unaware that an answer might be expected from him.
“Perhaps we could repeat it some other time.”
He nodded again, forcing his gaze to remain on the eyes of the woman in front of him and not travel downwards. That robe was a bit too low-cut.
“Good night, then, Severus.”
Snape was about to nod again when he realised her face was closer. And closer. And closer. He had to stop himself from taking a step backwards; it had been a long time since a woman had willingly kissed him. Closer...
Their noses bumped.
“Sorry,” she said.
He took the opportunity to retreat in as graceful a manner as possible, pulling back before their lips could meet. “It is late. Perhaps I should go.”
She looked at him strangely, her head tilted slightly to one side. “Perhaps,” she replied.
Snape turned on his heels and left, not waiting for Tonks to get into her house, wishing he hadn’t pulled back.
