So. I have lots of random thoughts all the time, but I can never figure out which ones I want to say...so it takes me a while to get around to saying anything, when really the problem is I have too MANY random thoughts. I'm trying to decide which ones are worthy of putting out there.
So, here's one for my second journal entry:
People in the early '

But, hey, "Espresso" fits me, eh? There were others, with different shades of brown...they were all pretty, but I went for this one. I never quite found a layout with EVERYTHING I wanted (wide, but with margins of _some_ kind; white or at least a very light background colour, some decor but not too fancy, easy-to-read font, and tags at either the left or bottom) but this one is the one I liked best out of the "finalists" that had ALMOST everything I wanted, bar just one factor.
ANYWAY. Wow. I'm apparently so good at rambling, I can ramble about a freaking _layout_ for all eternity. It's a gift. At any rate, I didn't actually mean this post as _angry_ as it kinda sounds...looking over it now, I'm not seeing the wacky sarcasm I was actually feeling, in the _words_ that ended up on the screen. Heh.
I quite _liked_ a fair few of the songs from 1972 (and we're speaking of the big hits that they felt like putting into/managed to get the rights for, in the Billboard Top 100 collection), as it turns out. And I was quite surprised as to how many I _knew_ but hadn't heard in forever/never knew their names. And, I ran into a few that I had never heard before but quite liked. ("Popcorn" being only one of them).
But, yeah. I had been listening to stuff from that era all day long and the just...ROCKETING violently back and forth of moods/themes from one song to the very next was starting to give me mental whiplash! :P
And yes, as it happens, I _was_ drawing somebody in '70s fashion at the same time...and I don't really know how listening to thematically appropriate music helps or hinders my creativity? but I was listening to a lot of late-'60s/early-'70s stuff when I wrote the original draft of "Phantom Hero" in one day, too. It just turned out that way both times as a coincidence...
Incidentally, as you probably already knew, I was NOT kidding about that "location"--this room actually does have fake wood panelling! _And_ shag carpet, in my particular room. Fucking. Brown. Shag. Carpet. The place was made in 1970....and WOWOHWOW does it show. Liz would think there was _nothing_ wrong with the decor. :P
