Your journal says you are a blackhearted pirate that Hell itself could not contain -- what would you say was your most nefarious of adventures?

My most nefarious of adventures? *slightly ill-humored chuckle* Madam, ye are plainly not at all acquainted with the legends surrounding my name, else ye would know the answer to your own question.

I have had many adventures in my days at sea, and not a few of them were nefarious enough to shock even yourself, who seems an unusually knowledgeable noblewoman indeed. But my most nefarious adventure--and the most infamous, I'll wager--was that which cursed my black heart, even as it brought me wealth beyond what ye may well imagine. 'Twas the voyage that gained me a captaincy, a fair ship of my very own, and a chest of gold -- gold enough to purchase your rich city-state thrice over, if not enough to buy back one man's soul from the Devil's hold.

If ye could but see the bright coins that chest contained, my lady, I promise you'd not be so quick to think yourself above the bribes of this humble pirate.

I see from the writings of tm_jacksparrow that your world has female pirates in it. Have you any women in your crew? And if not, would you accept a woman if she could climb riggings and cut throats with the best of your men?

Ah, I fear ye have been sorely misled by the writings of that one. Jack Sparrow and his ragtag motley are hardly a fair representation of your average pirate crew. It's true that some wenches aspire to the life of a scalawag, and a few do manage to live that life, assuming their captain is particularly soft in one or two of his vital organs. I myself prefer to keep any females aboard my ship on their backs, and thus well out of the rigging.

Y'see, even in the unlikely circumstance where a woman makes a decent pirate, her mates ne'er forget that she lacks for a crucial bit of substance between her thighs. And that makes her a distraction to them. It doesn't matter how coarse and calloused she gets, how grandly she swaggers and swears with the rest of the crew; she remains but a potential dalliance, and there will always be some impatient fellow sniffing after her tail between ports. Pirate crews tend to be a right quarrelsome lot as it is, and a woman in their midst soon becomes only one more piece of booty to lay claims to. And that is an annoyance their captain would certainly rather do without.

So no, my dear Countess, I do not currently have any women in my crew, nor do I plan to make a practice of accepting them in the future.

Is there any place, by sea or in the midst of the land, that you would dream of plundering?

I suppose I should like to plunder the lost isle of Atlantis, that realm which the legends say had riches to rival the gods' a'fore she sunk beneath the waves. It is also said that the Atlanteans, through their unending greed and desire for power, brought down upon themselves a cataclysmic doom. And so while to some degree I sympathize with those poor devils, I'd as soon jump at the chance to loot their golden city. After all, the damned can have no compunctions about stealing from the damned.

Do you fear any creature that dwells in the water?

Sirens and krakens, selkies and mermen -- I tremble at none of their names. There be more fearful things on the sea than e'er dwelt in her darkest depths.

If you were not a pirate and sailor of the seas, what other vocation do you think you might best be suited for?

*slow smile* I have been told that I would make a fine lawyer, madam.
