Signor Angel,
I am requiring six to eight small blocks of wood -- perhaps twelve to twenty centimeters in height and five to ten centimeters in depth. And also something to carve them with. The Feast of Immaculate Conception is in two days, and with it the start of the season Navidad, and the flood has slowed my preparations.
(ooc: So in Spain the Christmas season officially begins on December 8th. Vidal, like any good Spaniard of his time, is deeply religious and reveres the traditions. Also, he's not talking about the flood. Or the fact that he was a baby for the duration. Or the fact that he turned into his son, even though it kind of reminded him there were things more important than himself -- even if his fixation on his son was an issue of pride and an obsession with leaving behind the same legacy as his own father.)
