10 good things about this week so far

-seeing my mum. We always talk for hours whenever I arrive, and she's always happier to see me than anyone I've met so far, which is fab. We must have talked for 3 or 4 hours straight when I got home on monday. I love it when you can do that, like you're starving, and NEED a poo or whatever, but just can't cut off a conversation halfway through
-reinforcing the notion that moving up north was the best thing I ever did. My 'friends' down here, bar 2, were pretty much nonplussed that I was around. It was kind of wierd, considering I was really happy to see them, and was just talking shit trying to catch up and they were majorly not arsed. The up side of this is that it helps me appreciate what I have all the more. I wasn't kidding myself that my friends would treat me the same way they did 2 years ago, I mean, I probably see them one day in every 6 months or something, but still it's a shame that they weren't apparently bothered about my presence, one way or another. Well, thinking about it, that's the way it's always been! ahah!
-seeing some real marvels of nature the last few days. On monday night I saw a cat and a fox practically playing with each other in this guys front garden, the cat started following this fox down the road and then ended up running up to it! The fox was pretty freaked out at first but then started sniffing it and everything. It was pretty rad. Today I saw a fledgeling bird that had fallen out a tree, which was pretty heart breaking. I heard other baby birds crying, so I chased it to under that tree in the hope that its mum would find it.
-Then my cat and my dog were both in great health, and as ordinary as ever. It was so awesome when I got home and amber came to say hello. My mum made her sit and be good before I said hello to her, and she was shaking all over cos she was so desperate to come and give me a big doggy hug! My dog is rad. She's so bouncy and playful, but she's very delicate with my nephews and nieces and also with her toys. You can seriously give her a soft toy or something, and as long as you say 'nicely', she'll just trot around with it or cuddle it and won't try to eat it or anything! Ettie's rad cos anything you say to her she'll meow back at you, so you can pretend to have a conversation with her and everything!
-saw duncan on monday. We had a nice long chat, and I think I've finally managed to put stuff behind us. He did a lot to upset me, but after talking to him on monday I realised that he's just too awesome for me to lose him as a friend, regardless of what he did. So that's one less thing I'll regret in later life.
-also been hanging around with my friend james a lot this week. It's strange, because we used to go to school together, but he changed schools when he was six or seven because he was dyslexic and I never really saw him again, even though he was my best friend. That is, until the other month when I bumped into him in town. We went shopping on tuesday and had a right old natter. It's weird, because I haven't spoken to him in 12 odd years, but we have a shitload in common! He's sxe, he's into punk and hardcore, and he's thinking about going vegan! He reckons he'll come up and visit sometime this summer, which will be utterly rad!
-I saw monster today. Very good film. It's quite graphic, but more than that, it's very sad indeed. Charlize Theron is fucking awesome in this, as is Christina Ricci, who I normally don't like all that much. It's well recommended.
-I found this second hand book shop in woking that I've always seen, but for some ridiculous reason have never looked inside. They have a hell of a lot of old books, plenty that I want to get. Shame is most of the books in there I want are very expensive, being antiques and rare and stuff. I found 10 volumes of mythology from around the world for 135 quid, but there's a whole volume dedicated to chinese and japanese mythology, each other volume dealing with mythology from different parts of the globe, I want them!! Picked up a book which is a first hand survivors account of the bombing of nagasaki.
-I've actually done more revision these last 3 days than I think I've ever done before. I haven't actually done all that much, I mean, compared to other people I'm being lazy as hell, but for me I've made a good effort. Ask me about nuclear or directed energy weapon physics or the theoretical effects of nuclear war and I can talk for hours!
-Finally, this week has definately been about listening to calming music and reading comic books on grass lawns all over town.

I got a great story too. Someone ask me about 'the swamp man' next time you see me and I'll tell.
