a long but great time at sea
so it has been some time since the last time I posted. the reason being that 1. i have been very busy 2. i can't access lj at work because it is banned from the students 3. we have internet but need to set up a phoneline in order to use our internet 4. i was in the hospital for a week. i have to start by saying how much i am loving my job of teaching high and middle school students. it is such a large range developmently and emotionly, but so great. my high school students are high school students and are too cool for me, at least they try to make it seem that way but i really get the sense that they like me, especially when i came back from being out for 2 weeks and they were all very happy to see me, a good sign. the middle school students i can't seem to find a way for them to not like me. oh how each day i get from other teachers telling me how this student has a crush on me, nice but also creepy i rather that no students of mine have crushes on me. for the most part all of the teachers i work with have been great. i have been learning a lot from them and them from me. next i have to say how much i love living with michelle and how that has been one of the best things we have done. i can't even begin to put into words how great it is to be able to go to bed and wake up to her every day and night. being in our space, our place. this is the time that i wish i could write better that way i could actually put into words what it is like to live with the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with the person who you trust with anything the person you can just be your self around no matter if that means you don't feel like showering that day. now to the excitement i have had. besides working not too much has taken place. my youngest brother is going to be having another baby, which is exciting. i did have to go to the er on halloween because i was having insane stomach pain. i ended up having surgery to remove 5-6 inches of my intestine and my appendix. it turns out that i have crohn's disease. not really sure what that means besides that i might have to change my diet and be on some meds. it effects the digestive tract and causes pain and inflammation and can cause leakage out of the intestine which happened to me. so needless to say i have been recovering from that. i was a week in the hospital and a week at home then i started working half days, which actually did take a lot out of me. as of monday i will be back to full time, which i think i am ready for. it will be nice because there is a couple of classes have not seen for almost month and that is a long time. i do have a nice scar right now that is about 3 inches in length just below my belly button. there are two holes which were left there on purpose for healing, that for a while looked like i had 3 belly buttons which really freaked me out but they don't look like that anymore so that is good. i am feeling a lot better, but i do need to be careful of what i eat because it could go right through me, which is not fun. i do have to say how great michelle has been through all of this. she has taken care of me way beyond anything i could ever imagine. it was really great that trina came up to visit because i got to see her but more importantly she got michelle to do other things than just sit in the hospital with me all day. i really liked her there but i knew it was good for her to get out and do things for her because everything was so focused on me. it also allowed her to have someone in the apartment with her at night, which she really liked a lot. it was also great to see wendy and ken since they came up to see me also. i got a lot of cards from my family and michelles and i got a few phone calls including some from julie my longest friendship. i could eat for a week which sucked and i lost a lot of weight, i looked like a skeleton for a while, enough weight was lost that my neice was a little scared of me, which made me sad but i understood. well besides that i am loving living in ellsworth we are right there at the ocean and the mountains are also right there. there is not better mix. thanksgiving was pretty good i did have a hard time eating, but it worked out as best as it could. i do need to go since i am starting to have pain sitting at the computer. hope everyone out there is doing well, since i have not been able to keep up on lj.
