Last night I walked into my room and had one of those strange double take moments. For a terrifying moment I thought someone had ransacked my room. And then i realised no. They've just rigged it up from corner to corner with tripwires and placed my belongings in perfect ranks along the ground. And turned some of the furniture upside down. And left a horse bookstop lying in my bed. And a wad of ivy underneath the doona.

Don't know what I was suprised about really. Although for a moment I did do a mental catalogue of all the stalkers I knew. And then settled on Liam. But it seems Nancy Drew failed this time and the true culprits were elsewhere to be found. But it was all very funny once I disabled that last guillotine.

Speaking of which, Liam's taken to doing impersonations of a grizzled, chain-smoking, McGarnagle-esque, 50 something Nancy Drew. Its funny in a bizarre sort of way.

"Good work cracking the smugglers Nancy! But did you have to kill so many hookers?"
"*pained cigarette draw* I did what i had to"

And Melbourne was a wonderful trip. Went to a beautiful funeral, chockers with raw emotion (ending with us walking out while they played a recording from last year of Pop singing "All I have to Offer you is Me"), met cousins i didn't know existed, tried to introduce myself to ones whom I did, sang a lot of irish folk songs, taslked irish dancing, felt hugely irish and drank heavily, feeling irish while doing so. Laughed my tits off as well. Funerals are good for bringing that out. Thanks for the thoughts and support. Twas a pretty rough week all round despite all of that. Fencing a funeral with a late essay and two days of uber hectic work does not make for a relentlessly happy luke. But now summer proper has started and I'm ready for more fun than a jesus-buddha-vishnu three way steel cage death match.
