Okay, not only was Iron Man 2 complete and total win... but the whole night was complete and total win.
The movie, and this isn't a review, that'll come later, I promise. The movie was completely awesome.
As for the night! This is a crazy story in itself. kajexgrey and I drove by after dinner and saw a line, so we went home and got the tickets stuff and then went back. We sat in line about 9, and hadn't brought much to do other than ipod/iphone. So someone comes by announcing that the Iron Man movie is seating and I hadn't seen that our theatre was playing the first movie... evidently they were. I thought they'd be sold out, but we bought some $5 tickets and ran in, only missing the first five minutes.
So we weren't sure if they were going to make us stand back in line afterward, which would suck, the line was loooong by that point and no one could sit down. We went back out and the ticket girl told us, oh you just get to hang out in the theatre for an hour. Score. So we went back in, but we asked about our theatre number because it wasn't the same as the first movie. The manager came in and told us we were being moved to the theatre next door, so us and another couple headed over there.
We started getting uneasy that we were in the wrong place or that no one was coming... Though first it was awesome because we got the best seats. So then they started letting the line people in and they were going to different theatres and we were still alone. How much would it suck to be told to go there and then told to go somewhere else... etc. I went out and found another manager-type employee and asked her about it. She told me that people from the first Iron Man viewing had the theatre to themselves, so just go in there and relax and we won't even SEE the line people.
Basically. We got our own private showing.
I missed the crowd a bit because that's half the fun, but I didn't miss being in line (especially since some people got there at 3:30). But my friend from school wants to go tomorrow, so I'll get the crowd then. Best of both worlds. The private showing was SO worth it.
