Writer's Five

Oct 02, 2007 17:49

I'm sort of taking a note from
sparowe and borrowing from
writers_five even though I didn't actually join the community.  But I like the idea, so I'm going to try to keep up with them for a variety of different characters, though only one per post.  Today's (this week's/month's?) prompt is answered by Telemus.

It's your choice, we can colonize the depths of the oceans or a new planet?

Occupying a new planet is a much more beneficial situation, as it expands the hold on the system itself.  Each planet has its own resources and should be utilized for the advancement of the population.  My race breathes air, therefore it would not be unreasonable to attempt to colonize the oceans.  Anyway, I am not fond of oceans to begin with.

Where do you go to be alone with your thoughts?

My quarters on my vessel.  It is my own domain, no one is allowed there unless by my permission.  From my years on Vulcan, I have retained some of their meditation practices for my own purpose.  Not to focus on logic or to drown out emotion, but to center.  With all of the benefits of emotion, it still remains to those few leaders to be able to stay centered and grounded less in passion in order to better lead their men.

Do you believe in mercy? Are there any circumstances under which ruthless punishment is warranted?

I believe that there are circumstances of both.  Ruthless punishment can be an act of passion, or of survival, but mercy is an act of an advanced man.  But then, some consider my ways to be radical.

How are you with very little sleep?

Irritable.  I believe once I made an inferior terrified to the point that he believed his life to be in danger from me.

Name your price. Everyone has one, what is yours?

It may take you sometime to find out, I do not persuade or anger easily.  However.. despite the views of my family on the subject, I do care for them, if that is any indication of what a "price" might be.
