It Begins Again

So overview of classes, now that I'm at the midweek mark.  Geography and History look like they'll be really good.  Existentialism will be ok and Creative Writing I'm really not thrilled about.  I think that it was a "mistake" to take Roger's class first because he was way too much of a Mr. Keating, and this teacher... we have two text books, one on poetry and one on story writing, and we have to read four extra books.  But...it's a creative WRITING class, not a creative READING class.  You can't read about creativity, you have to do it.  But..whatever.

I had an interesting time in the social security office while trying to turn in my application to replace my card.  So there were women there with their babies, like three of them.  Every time the attendant people tried to call a number, the babies would cry, so you couldn't hear what was called, it was highly annoying.  Then my mom called my cell phone RIGHT as my number was called.  She gets pissy and upset and nervous if I don't answer my phone.  Yeah, it's great being 20 and having over-protective parents.  I really need to get a better job and move out.

Evatunally I gave up and started reading.  I started Moonraker since I couldn't find Live And Let Die.  I have to say the image of James Bond having an office with a secretary, is really amusing, and what was even more amusing was him doing paperwork.  I giggled a few times, and a few people looked, and then finally I laughed out loud because of:

'Besides, I only call you Lil on Mondays,' he said.  'The rest of the week it's Miss Ponsonby.  But I should never call you Loelia, that sounds like the name of someone in an indecent limerick.'

... Thank you, James.  (not the exact line, I don't have my book in front of me).  So, they did accept my passport for the I9, which I wish I had known before because I could have just brought that.  Pfft.  Ballroom dance tonight, and I have a blister on my foot from holy socks.
