Go team productive!

I made the best of my unplanned day off and actually made some initial headway on my thesis design. I received a positive response to my exhibit bubble diagram from one of my committee members, though I still haven't heard back from the other two.

This afternoon, I went to see Pan's Labyrinth at the Harvard Exit. The movie was dark and gruesome and wonderful, sad and hopeful all at the same time. My afternoon movie time yielded an excellent object for my exhibit proposal. The lobby of the Harvard Exit is home to an old silent movie projector built in 1911 and later converted to show talkies. It works as a perfect companion to my video clip discussing how a projector works.

When I got home, I decided to get a head start compiling my equipment list for the exhibit. I created a spread sheet and began assigning exhibit numbers to the objects, graphics and interactives I know I want to include. I also confirmed the legal status for a number of artifacts and images. Several of them are in the public domain which makes things very easy. Here is one little gem I plan to include in my section discussing sound on film.

My confidence in my ability to do this project is beginning to grow... very slowly.
