part i.
Character name: Captain Jack Harkness
Fandom: Torchwood
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): mostly human (immortal)
Character powers: Not really a power, but. Jack can't die. Well. Not really. He can die, he just comes back from the dead. There's nothing that keeps him down for long. He's been killed in almost every way imaginable (falling off of skyscrapers, electrocuted, shot any number of ways and places, buried alive, buried in cement, blown up from the inside out, had a building collapse on him, had his life energy sucked away by Abaddon the Great Devourer, etc.) but none of them killed him for good. Something happened with a friend who looked into the heart of an all-seeing machine and temporarily gained the ability to do anything she wanted, and what gave him was life. Apparently forever. He doesn't age, either. He's what the Doctor calls a fixed point in space and time, and that means that he's forever.

part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion? It's pretty hard for anyone to be able to control Jack's mind. He's had a lot of psychic training, and his shields are pretty impressive. The one time that someone tried to look into his mind in the show, all they heard was silence. He knows when you're trying to get in, too.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. Once again, it is possible, but the reader must be a very, very powerful psychic. Also, permission is needed, please contact me if you want it to happen. His mind is...intensely complicated and dark, and full of horrible and fantastic memories. Once again, he's had psychic training, so he knows how to defend and block against intrusion into his mind.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? Not unless they are very strong and trying to pick up on them deliberately.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? For empaths, Jack tries to shield from them as well, but please ask first for anything beyond what is actually visible. Jack has a lot of secrets that he tries to keep, after all.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? If you can think of any that you would want to pick up from Jack, talk to me. Otherwise, he should be pretty much guarded from all looking into his mind/emotions/innermost self.

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? He's tall (6'1"), charming, handsome, great smile, gorgeous eyes, good build, smells like your favorite cologne (thank you 51st century pheromones). All in all, pretty much a really attractive guy. His looks and charisma make him stand out above the rest in that regard.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? Jack is immune to a great many illnesses, because of how far medical advances have come. Everything else will effect him the same, but he's got the added bonus of not being able to die going for him, so it won't bring him down for long.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. Only the pheromones. The rest of him is pretty much all human.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? Jack's pretty much game for harm. He's wreckless with himself, and not being able to die certainly makes it even worse. Any sort of attacks, feedings, what have you, just mention it to me before and I'll probably always agree.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? In this case, really just ask me ahead of time.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? Jack has a presence. Plus he's a fixed point in space and time. His aura is strong and unwavering and makes people uncomfortable because it is essentially "wrong", and shouldn't exist as it does. It's light blue, like his eyes, because blue is his color, but there's something about it that both draws people and turns them away at the same time.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Yes, but please ask/clear things with me ahead of time.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Yes, he absolutely can be.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? Jack's worst sins are his guilt and his anger.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Yes, of course.

part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional. No fourth-walling, no. If characters are to come in from different canon points, then maybe he might be able to be spoiled, but. Check with me first on that.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances? Threadjacking is allowed on the basis that the thread isn't locked from that person. Otherwise, go for it!
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? Check with me first, but yes, of course.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)? Nope. Have at it!
5. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey? Not that I can think of at the moment, nope.
