Thanks!
This guy just likes to kill, and he is about to find out that Holmes is alive and has returned to London!

Thanks!
I like the idea that ambition, revenge, and honour have nothing to do with Moran's ambitions. He just likes to kill.

Poor ACD... couldn't come up with a greater foe than Moriarty. Sebastian Moran paled in comparison. (No wonder Holmes got bored of the criminal element and retired to bee-keeping!)

Please, please, please do not have it turn out that Sergeant-Major Reginald Blood is a vampire (There are too many vampire fics out there and the name 'Blood' is very suggestive!)

:D

Sorry for the crazy slow response! This is fantastic and makes me happy! And also creeped out. Good combination! ;)

I have some drabbling to do...

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you for being so patient. The Colonel was a tricksy character to track down. It took me a long time to realise that he just loved to kill!

I like that - kind of Holmes-like in the way he has something he is the very best at and it's all he wants to do.

(I should clarify that I like that about your story, not about the character. So I don't sound so creepy.)

Ooooo! I love how you've captured the transition from hunter to assassin! And the fact that Moriarty is just a resource so he can continue his hunt... chilling!

Thanks! Either Moriarty was a genius and recognised that Moran just loved to kill, or he was completely oblivious and thought that he had the upper hand. Either way, Moran cannot be manipulated by honour, ambition, or wealth. Moriarty's last instructions were to make sure Holmes did not survive the Reichenbach encounter. He failed three years ago, but his informants have just told him that Holmes has been spotted again in London. Holmes was 'the one who got away', but Moran knows that a good hunter must be patient...
